What To Do When Your Apache (Web Server) Is Down In CPanel?

 

In this Web Hosting Knowledge base article we will check on when your apache (Web Server) is down in CPanel but before knowing this let’s first learn about Apache:

 What is Apache?

Apache is the most commonly and widely used web server especially on Linux platforms. Apache is an open source software available for free and almost 70% of the world is using Apache as Web Server. Apache’s performance is fast, reliable, and secure. You can customized Apache to meet the needs of your environment by using different extensions and modules.

How to check that Apache is working or not in WHM:

 

  1. Login to your WHM.
  1. On the extreme left side there is a search bar and type “Apache Status” and click on this option
  1. Now if the Apache is working you will see the traffic coming and going as shown in screenshot below
  1. Now if Apache is not working it will show “Failed” message as shown in screenshot below.

To turn on the Apache, kindly follow the below steps:

On the left side search bar type “HTTP Server (Apache)” and click on this option and restart your Apache Web Server.

After restart success again open “Apache Status” and you will see the Apache is up and traffic is coming and going.
